Alchemy Magic
Introduction and History
Alchemy in Flight of Virtue is the process of using and manipulating the strings of magic that the sky and earth provides. Much is left to explore or figure out with Alchemy with the most powerful spells lost to history as Ceyone forced the destruction of written pages.
While Alchemy was once used in all Kingdoms; just under 100 years ago Ceyone experienced an event that caused them to act rash and call for the ban of Alchemy. Lucrezia, Himin, Acatl and Jacolin all expressed concerns however only Lucrezia would actively outright state their unwillingness causing a war between the two Kingdoms. The rest of the Kingdom's were called to publicly execute their Alchemist families and burn all books/pages that spoke of how to perform Alchemy. With this news many Alchemist families tried to flee however with bounties on their heads most were killed by bounty hunters.
Himin did manage to deceive everyone with keeping one family alive: Gudbrand. Only allowing their most trusted advisers to know of their existence. Recently Himin got attacked by multiple Phoenixes and spies mistook them for Alchemists and informed Ceyone; calling for war.

Process
Alchemy is considered easy to learn but difficult to master. There are 3 major steps in making a successful spell: Glyph, ingredients and a incantation.
A glyph must first start as a circle and only then do certain symbolic details determine what the spell will be. The Alchemist must know what major element their spell is as that will be the focal point both with symbols and ingredients. Some spells also require a certain sized glyph
Ingredients must correspond to the element/s used to perform the spell. For example Ignis may need ashes or coal. Terra may need plant roots or leaves etc
Alchemy can be done without ingredients however it will drastically reduce lifespan (minimum half) and any attempts to use 2 different elements without ingredients will cause death.
Incantation is different for every Alchemist. However there is a basic structure:
"I call upon/I command/Dear/Listen to my call
I give/present/sacrifice -ingredients used-
The Celestial light grant me the ability to -spell description-"

Side Effects
Alchemy is never without side effects. Magic is within everyone and everything so caution is always needed when taking and manipulating it.
All spells will reduce lifespan however 1 elemental spells are barely noticeable (max 1 minute) with the only difference being Alchemists retiring earlier than normal.
Using 2 elemental spells can cause up to 1 whole year taken off (minimum 1 month) if they are not careful so these type of spells must only be used sparingly.
3+ is said to take half though no one is for certain as no one has lived long enough to know.
Spells can backfire if the glyph is not outside and/or the Alchemist performing the spell either isn't ready or they are unstable. Backfire can be as little as the spell 'shattering' or losing a whole main sense (Sight, Hearing, Smell, Touch etc) and even limbs.

- The ingredients themselves have elemental properties

Enchantments
Spells aren't the only thing Alchemy can do. Many have learned that they can carve the glyphs on weaponry, hide the ingredients in handles and chant the incantation when needing to activate. They even learned they can delay the activation to whenever they need it; only then using a title name to activate the spell. This delay also allows those with high stress or anyone with no prior knowledge of Alchemy to use these weapons.
While this used to be only a Lucrezia specialty; with battles other kingdoms managed to get hold of their weaponry and take them apart. Learning how to do enchanting objects themselves.
Due to the war between Ceyone and Lucrezia; this became the most common source of Alchemy

Elemental Alchemy Spells
Key:

IgnisIgnis is one of the more common types of element used and one of the easiest to learn as it's renewable! Some of the main ingredients are ashes, charcoal, coal, Volcanic rocks etc
